Frage in die Runde: fühlt sich jemand berufen, den Vandalismus-Hinweis in Englische zu übersetzen (inkl. Bildausschnitte mit englischer Menüführung)? Ich würde das dann nach Rücksprache mit der Forums-Governance gern global anheften, damit man nicht gefühlt Tausend Fragen beantworten muss.
Ich selbst habe dafür gerade leider keine Zeit für eine Übersetzung.
Kann ich machen. Das einzige Problem dürften passende Screenshots sein. Ich kenne zwar eine Stelle an der aktuell immernoch kaputte Daten angezeigt werden, allerdings nur in Zoomstufe 15, und das ist ja schon recht weit rausgezoomt. Ich kann also nicht versprechen, dass man auf den Bildern gut sieht, dass über der kaputten Straße KEINE blaue Linie mehr ist.

Ich musste auch ganz schön Suchen, um noch Artefakte in der passenden Zoomstufe zu finden 
Mal so nebenbei, - Danke an Alle, die sich dran gemacht haben und dran machen diesem Unwesen zu begegnen, die Spuren dieses Vandalismus zu beseitigen und - falls möglich - für die Zukunft zu verhindern.

Hier ist der übersetzte Text. Ich unterstelle mal, dass ihr Mods den fertig formatieren Text hier einfach rauskopieren könnt.
Reacently there has been another case of vandalaism:
Single nodes of some streets have been moved all across the globe to create a hodgepodge of lines. Some of the streetnames have been changed as well. Also, this is not the first case of this kind of vandalism.
Please do not post images with these unwelcome and insulting names or propaganda. We don’t want to spread the vandals/perpetrators word for them
Most cases are found quickly and get reverted. But it can happen, that you still see them on the map.
1. First check
whether these wrong data are still in the OSM-Database. You have different options to do so on the OSM-Standard Map:
a) Query features
Click with the right mouse button at a given location and select “Query features” in the context menu:
No result:
→ the vandalism has already been taken care of.
or
b) Map Layers
select Layers
and next, in the lower part of the menu:
if no blue and selectable line is being shown ontop of the vandalized street:
→ the vandalism has already been taken care of
or
c) Open an Editor
… of your choice. If no vandalized street is displayed
→ the vandalism has already been taken care of.
2. If the above checks show
… that hte vandalized streets are actually still in the database, then please report dirctly to Data Working Group (DWG). The easiest and fastest way to do so is an email to: data@openstreetmap.org. Please provide the number (ID) of the vandalized object and/or the number of the changeset. You get these numbers with the “query features” described above, or by clicking the blue line when using “Map Layers”. (currently there is no picture available)
Members of the DWG or other versed contributors will then do the revert.
Please do not try to correct any vandalism on a couple streets on your own. That makes it harder for us to do a rollback of the entire malicious changeset.
3. Vandalism is still being displayed
If wrong data is still displayed on the OSM-Standard Layer despite of a revert, then deleting your browser-cache will usually fix the issue. Depending on your browser and system, one of the folloing key presses will do so:
Windows / Linux:
F5 or Ctrl+F5 or Shift+F5
macOS:
CMD + SHIFT + R
4. If that still doesn’t work
… then it is likely that the rendering-server is overloaded and can’t draw the repaired tiles fast enough. In that case you only have one choice left: waiting.

ab wann, kann man die neuesten Daten von Geofabrik laden, ohne den Vandalismus mit zu laden ?
Sind alle falschen Daten mittlerweile beseitigt ?
Der Vandalismus ist passiert, nachdem die Extrakte in der Nacht von Mittwoch auf Donnerstag erstellt wurden, und war behoben, bevor die nächsten Extrakte erstellt wurden, d.h. er hat die Geofabrik-Extrakte nicht betroffen.

rein interessenshalber und nur mal angenommen, der Vandalismus wäre kurz vor dem Erstellen der Extrakte passiert und Ihr hättet vandalierte Daten erhalten - wie schnell könnte die Geofabrik reagieren und die “Auslieferung” an Kunden verhindern bzw. auf den letzten sauberen Extrakt zurücksetzen.
Und das ist doch genau das, was @SomeoneElse propagiert: Kunden sollen nicht Tiles direkt (und live) von osm.org beziehen, sondern aufbereitete Daten von Drittanbietern. Das würde die weitere Verbreitung von vandalierten Daten zwar nicht 100% verhindern, aber doch stark auf wenige zeitlich ungünstige Fälle beschränken. Und osm.org bliebe als permanent aktualisiertes Live-Feedback den Mappern “vorbehalten”.
@SomeoneElse ist da schon dran. Aktuell grätschen ihm leider wohlmeinende Mapper dazwischen und kassieren auf Grund der kristischen Lage selbst einen kurzen Block, damit sie die Situation nicht noch verschlimmern

war auch sehr neu. DWG war aber wohl grad wach. Hat ne gute Viertelstunde gedauert, da waren schon die ersten Accounts wieder gesperrt
nach meinem Verständnis sind die Geofabrik-extrakte keine aufbereiteten Daten in diesem Sinne, sicherlich werden sie versuchen zu vermeiden, dass Vandalismus den Weg in die Extrakte findet, aber versprechen werden sie das bei einem kostenlosen Service vermutlich verständlicherweise nicht.

… and also ensure that “their background map” is only updated periodically when someone has checked that it is OK to do so. Typically that would involve buying a service from someone to provide that “clean feed”, or to do periodic updates only when there is no known problem. Any automatic process could have problems if no-one is checking before an update takes place.
Fundamentally this is something that companies ought to pay for - someone needs to do that work, and they don’t benefit directly themselves so they should get paid for that. As the tone of some of my recent messages has no doubt made clear, I’m somewhat frustrated by large organisations using OSM’s “free” tiles and then demanding that a problem in those tiles is fixed because “our customers are seeing this”.

And anyone that says “Daylight” now should start looking into the factual wrong data that is introduced by Daylights QA process supported by a fantasizing AI… (still easier to handle than the vandalism and mostly just good for a chuckle). It is lovely that their QA process feeds back upstream into OSM but no tech solution will be good enough in handling these problems. Only Peter Thiel would dream that.
These checks are a lot of work and it is no fun to sit at night (midnight UTC) checking OSM data quality. You do get frustrated, sleep-deprived and sometimes short tempered and it is a hell lot of work.

Das ist richtig. Die Geofabrik-Extrakte sind nur ein zeitlicher und regionaler Snapshot, sonst nichts.

Ist da mittlerweile ein Bot aktiv? Wenn es ums Stören und Zerstören geht, kann ich mir schon lange, auch alles potentiell unmögliche als möglich vorstellen…

Ich sehe das auch nun hier im Spreewald bei Z13 und Z14… Es erbricht mich nur noch… 
Meine Frage bleibt trotzdem aktiv: ist da ein Bot aktiv?
