Apart from directly editing OSM, CoMaps also encourages its users to open a note when they find something that’s wrong on the map and that they can’t fix with the limited editing options in the app.
These notes contain valuable information for OSM and can often be solved without surveying the place on your own. And when something is unclear or you need more information for editing, CoMaps users are usually happy to respond to questions. Frequent cases are e.g. asking to mark a closed shop as closed, adding further details or adjusting the POI category.
Many of the CoMaps users are new to OSM. So solving their notes is a good way to integrate them into the OSM community and will probably increase the changes that they keep contributing to OSM.
But, depending on the region of the world, some notes stay open for way to long, sometimes for years. That’s why I encourage everyone to take a look at CoMaps notes as well as all other notes. You can view recent unresolved CoMaps notes on NotesReview:
(NotesReview also allows filtering notes by country or custom area to e.g. only show notes from the area you live in.)
