Yes:
thank you!
Na surprise … is that the official channel for announcements now …?!?.. so far I thought, for this purpose we would have this forum here and the tag “announcements” …
But that’s another different system for people to have to sign-up to & monitor
This is the official community forum, so maybe there should be a “Planned OSM Maintenance” thread here?
It was also posted at osm-talk mailing list at least
Good enough
Thanks, but isn’t the Forum intended to (eventually) replace the mailing lists?
The maintenance has been completed.
Yes. I should have also put the notice here, but today has been a stressful time for me preparing for the urgent maintenance.

Thank you for your time
For reference the maintenance announcement was sent to the following channels:

the forum has already replaced the mailing lists, there is almost nothing on most of the lists
23 posts were split to a new topic: Openstreetmap.org DDoS attack 11 July 2024
Personal note: I’ve moved all posts related to DDoS attacks to a new topic.

I see here Mastodon, Twitter/X, Mailinglists and… Slack US? But no Forum? There was at least no thread i was able to find, just some old ones from 2011, so i assume what i wrote here is correct?
Of course someone is going to announce it on their local channel as well, but there should be a checklist for something like this like because the Forum should be one of the most important announcement-channels as well. And Slack US should not be on that checklist.
Here is my suggested order for announcements:
After there, it can be shared on local channels. That’s at least my personal opinion.
The maintenance was successfully completed in the allocated window. I am going to close this thread to avoid future confusion.
