It could be done that each country group could be allowed to create a subcategory of help and support within the community, so that each community would have a separate help and support category in addition to the general one [because sometimes there is a specific need within the community].
Some countries donโt even have a community in the first place. (sorry for shattering your hopes and dreams)
And others already have dedicated โchat roomsโ elsewhere (Discord, Matrix, Facebookโฆ)
As an exemple the OSM Belgium community is active on Matrixโฆ whereas the global community is on both Matrix and Discord
But for those who already have
How many topics are made in your community to need a sub community? I think in most communities there are an average of 3-6 topic updates in a day. Pretty easy to see what somebody from your community needs right?
Same with the community in Mexico. They are mostly, I think, in Telegram, if not just spread everywhere.
So instead of the original idea that each community would have its own label, weโll start with that.
Iโm pretty sure there is
If and when a categoryโs moderators approach us with a request for subcategories, weโll see what we can do.
Note, however, that Discourse unfortunately has a limit for how deeply categories can be nested. Because of how local categories are already nested into Communities, subcategories for local communities would exceed that limit. While there are ways of increasing it, we would have to consider them more closely and itโs not guaranteed that we could make it happen.
