Hello OSM Community,
I recently added a new location, “VI Muscat” (Nightclub in Qurum, Muscat), but I would like it to be verified faster.
Can someone help review and approve the edit?

Hi @VI_Muscat and welcome to OpenStreetMap! Thanks for participating in OSM.

I had a look at your edits. They look quite good. I only have some coments:

  1. In this changeset your comment is just “.”. You should describe what you did in more detail. You do not have to do this in english. You can use your native language/the native language of the place you are mapping at as well. It is just important that other people can understand what you did and why you did it.
  2. The addr:street=JF87+Q6Q Qurum Resort منتجع القرم, Muscat of the nightclub you were editing looks strange. As I am not familiar with the addressing-system in Oman that my be totally fine. What is the name of the street where the nightclub is located?
  3. The opening_hours=19:00-:0300 on the nightclub are wrong. That is probably just a type and should be opening_hours=19:00-03:00. You can use this tool to check the synatx. Are there any different opening hours for hollidays or weekends?

It is not a country address system, it is a +Code from Google Maps, which means it is copying from Google Maps and pasting to openstreetmap.

Although OLC is freely accessible as is +Codes, the only tool that attaches the city name to the +Code is Google Maps, It is also possible to generate this information with the +Codes API but adding a Google Maps ApiKey.

Since this CS is already flawed from the start by containing Google Maps data, I would be more cautious when validating edits that contain Google data.

If Google Maps was used as a source that is not ok, see here.

@VI_Muscat for what information did you use what exact source? We need to revert any changes with incompatible licensed sources. In case of doubt we unfortunatly should revert all your edits.

Hello OSM Community,

I recently added a new business location for VI Muscat (Qurum Resort, Muscat, Oman) on OpenStreetMap.

The venue is an important nightlife and event spot, but it’s not appearing in searches yet. Can someone review and verify the edit so it can go live?

It’s already live. As soon as you save/upload a change, it’s in the live database. Changes do not wait for reviews.

And searching for VI Muscat does work for me.

What does addr:city:de mean?
