General Information about the OpenStreetMap project (all in English language):
Wow, now it is there the subforum “users: Thailand”. Thanks Lambertus it was etablished quickly and thanks WanTan there is a nice welcome post in almost no time. Now let’s see how it will develop.
During my mapping I came across the work of several mappers contributing to Thailand. I have assembled a list of more than 30. Would it be a good idea to E-Mail them like this:
Yes, great idea to push the new forum a bit. The wiki toolbox function “E-mail this user” (available in the menu of the user pages) would be the perfect tool for doing this. Please tell me if there is something i can help.
It will need some time to get traffic into the forum, but i am pretty sure that on the long term there will be a strong OSM community in thailand. It’s just a matter of time.
I got the invitation from Willi. It’s a good thing the community in Thailand is growing. I still have the feeling most OSM activity in Thailand is driven by foreigners.
For the invitations: not every user needs to be in the wiki.
There seem to be a number of provinces that have land registries online. Should be added here

I am not using roadnet. What is the reason it is no longer usable? Is the server no longer public? I do not get a connection, but this could simply be a maintenance downtime which is temporary.
Hi, just wanted to introduce myself. I’m Maria and I’ve been interested in OSM (mostly via MapSwipe) for some years now, but only tonight have I got around to trying out the actual browser editor. (Don’t worry, I only tried out adding one single building after doing the full walk-through.)
I live in Samut Prakan and it’s kind of mind boggling how little of this very busy province has been mapped. (Not blaming anybody, just surprised.) Roads and other similar major-level features are in place, but buildings (and on-the-ground info to go with them) are scarce. I get in a rut of going to the same places (or not even leaving the house) so walking around and collecting this kind of information for the map seems like a nice project.
Hello Maria,
welcome to the forum and to OSM Thailand.
You probably have seen already the Thailand page in the wiki. hopefully this gives you some hints of things to consider when mapping in Thailand. Feel free to open new posts in the forum in case you have further questions.
As you are not too far from Bangkok, there are some active mappers, so potentially you can get in touch with them in case you want to exchange with others directly.
