The EV Charging Station Mapping proposal is now approved with 25 votes for, 5 votes against, and 1 abstention (and 1 unsigned vote not counted).
I have edited the wiki for amenity=charging_station and man_made=charge_point accordingly. Perhaps some of the examples in the charging station wiki should be moved to the charge point wiki.
For those who would like to start mapping with the new charge point feature, here is a file with an indication of suitable candidates for update (search for the GROUP tag): Link to OSM file.
