Description of its purpose and which open mapping groups it will serve

We will use it to be the main forum for the Venezuelan community. Currently we only discuss in our Telegram group, so it will be very useful for us to be able to discuss using our profiles in a forum that is closely related to the OSM platform.

Why is this new category needed instead of being hosted as part of the existing ones?

Because like other sister countries (Argentina, Colombia, Brazil), we need our own category to deal with issues that are exclusive to Venezuela.

Is this a new space or does it already exist on other platforms? Where?

Currently our community discusses almost exclusively via Telegram, because it was more convenient to use than the old OSM forums.

Current volume of messages on the former platforms, if any (per week/per month)

It is relatively low most of the time. We only actively discuss when there is some issue of the mapping of our country, which we must discuss together.

Is there a transition plan for the old platform to this new one? (please link or describe)

Not currently, simply indicate the link of this forum in our Telegram group so that its members join this new forum.

But it will be very useful when we have to invite a new mapper from our country to this new forum to discuss more comfortably.

We currently do not have, or will create in the future. For now we will use the OSM Etiquette Guidelines.

List the usernames of the category moderators

In this aspect we have a problem, currently as active moderators of our Venezuelan community we are only three people, but two of them still do not have a user in these new forums.

Mientras esperamos a que los moderadores propuestos comenten aquí que están de acuerdo con el rol, sería genial si pudieras editar el mensaje inicial añadiendo una breve descripción de por qué cada moderador fue propuesto. Esto se pide como parte del proceso para proporcionar transparencia y permitir que una conversación de la comunidad ocurra aquí.

Según los actuales Criterios de selección de moderadores ten en cuenta que para que se apruebe la lista de moderadores, se necesitarán 5 días de discusión de la comunidad aquí (siempre incluyendo los días de fin de semana) y luego se abrirá una encuesta de votación para validar la lista por parte de la comunidad durante otros 5 días también.
