I plan to use this new thread to keep you apprised of ongoing maproulette mapping challenges in Utah.
I recently added to “locals only” challenges for checking outdated POIs. One for Salt Lake County and, just today, one for Utah County (@todrobbins you may find that one interesting, please help engage other Utah County mappers!). These challenges are not perfect; you may encounter some benches and other features that are less likely to change. Just mark those as “Not an Issue”.
We’ve been making decent progress with the Salt Lake County challenge, both at home and during the latest SLC Mappy Hour! The tasks generally involve a bit of internet sleuthing combined with local knowledge, the average task completion time is a little over 5 minutes.
If you would like to be able to add more challenges to the “OpenStreetMap Utah” project, let me know and I can add you as a maintainer of that group.
