Using a local Overpass server to tag fields and forests

Hey there. Hopefully you guys can give me a hand here. I have a working version of the overpass server installed locally, with the last current UK & Ireland maps on it. I don’t need updates for it just yet, and want to lever the ability to outline fields and forest areas to use as areas. My idea is to somehow “Cache” / save that data and use if as a reference. (loading times being as they are, i didn’t want to pull this “live”, hence why I am using my own installation with custom map area.

Am I on the right lines here, or is there a massive flaw in my logic?

For completeness, Its running on a N100 platform with 16g ram, ubuntu server as the OS.

You mean, like in nwr[natural=wood]?

Use it as a reference for what?

You can use it “as reference” directly in overpass, by storing results in e.g. -> .forests and using that later in a query.

Or do you mean use later in qgis or some other app?
