Updating trail maps

Gotta say…OpenStreetMaps is really good for hiking. It’s sooo much better than Google maps after the pavement ends.

Anyhoo…I’m really new here, and curious to know what it takes to update a trail map. I live right next to a trail system in Rhode Island. I want to tweak the map to include markers and fix some boo-boos.

I’ve started by adding the “Six-Toes” marker on the Walkabout Trail. Can someone check my entry to see if I’m going about this the right way?

Thanks !

Welcome! I’m in RI also. Would help to post a link to the map or changeset though to look at an edit

Wow, you guys are fast !

Here’s the linkey…

I hike and run these trails. I’d like to contribute so others can enjoy them as much as I do.

Holy crap. I think I did it !

Okay…now I’m not so sure I got this. I don’t see my addition on the OrganicMaps app. Do changes take some time to propagate, or am I doing it wrong?

It takes time to propagate to 3rd party apps, sometimes a long time.

Organic Maps updates roughly once a month. The current map data is from 26 March, see here: Organic Maps: Latest news and updates from our team
