For the three Canadian territories, is there any issue with updating their tag to border_type=territory?
They’re all currently border_type=province.
I wouldn’t for the simple fact it’s easily confused with border_type=territorial, which is used worldwide for marine boundaries.
Ultimately we wouldn’t/shouldn’t treat the territories’ borders any differently from the provinces’, so there’s no point tagging them differently. They’re the same level of government, and the specifics of constitutional law that make a distinction between the two are not relevant to the map. You glean nothing from the territories being tagged with border_type=territory: they won’t display any differently (they’re still admin_level=4), nor should they. To make a deliberate distinction between them is essentially pointless.
