Unusual map edition behavior, how to proceed?

While looking at the historic from an object, I have seen some edits from a user that look a bit unusual to me:

  • Change description containing just the date
  • The “source” attribute of the objects edited is set to the this user’s name

For the future cases, I’m wondering: how would you approach this situation?

My first thoughts are to PM the user, leave a comment on one of his commit or just ignore it.

EDIT: See Changeset: 162154857 | OpenStreetMap

If you’re unsure about an edit, it’s always best to bring it up in changeset comments first. Sometimes it can be handy to send someone a message with the link to the changeset after commenting on it, I might do this if someone hasn’t responded after a reasonable amount of time.

& if they still haven’t responded after another week or so, raise an issue against it & the DWG will then also try to contact them.
