It’s been a couple years since the proposal to harmonize network tagging for county and local routes, and the subsequent pull request to render shields for them in Americana. Since then, several mappers have made significant progress ‘filling out the map’ and adding route relations in areas they’re familiar with. But there are still a lot of counties[1] whose routes remain unmapped, despite shield rendering support in Americana. Take a look at your state and help fill in the gaps:

Several counties already have route relations mapped, but with the old pre-proposal tagging scheme that doesn’t distinguish County Roads from County State-Aid Highways. These simply need to be updated to append :CR or :CSAH to network.

Delaware does not sign any county routes (nor does Maryland) but DelDOT’s maintenance route numbers are sometimes mistaken as county routes. Some mappers have added the DelDOT refs enclosed in parentheses, e.g. ref=(339A).

This Overpass code will find all of those. Per the wiki those should be switched to ref:deldot=*

Is there a way to do an overpass query for multiple networks? I’ve been using the default one for a single network key (below) but if there’s a way I could load multiple counties at once that would be cool.

Yup! You can combine them with a union operator:

This regular expression can be further simplified to nwr[network~"^US:SD:"];, if you’re just searching for the sequence US:SD: at the beginning of network.
