Unable to select road for editing

I’m a newbie, made one edit so far, selected a road and corrected its name. Now I can’t select a road to make edits.

I clicked on “Edit”, or selected “Edit with ID (in-browser editor)”, and have the default aerial image background with “Edit” highlighted - so I appear to be in edit mode. When I hover over a road or try to click it, its properties appear in the “Edit feature” pane, but I can’t select it. As soon as I move the cursor away the properties disappear. It is not selected.

Using Chrome, tried closing and re-opening the instance - didn’t help. What am I missing?

Seems to work in FireFox, but unable to select road in Chrome. Are there known issues with Chrome?

Wasn’t expecting to hit a road block so fast.
