That should not be a problem. Here in my area, this is called FLEX.

Must not be tagged with public_transport:version = 2 as this PTv2 requires ways (a route).

Motis and Transitious are initiated by KDE
Other than OSM, they can make use of data under the license CC-BY-SA 4.0 and so on - those licenses which are are not compatible with OSM - IIRC.

@VolkerKrause : as a maintainer of Motis and Transitious, please correct my from wrong.

MOTIS is a public transport routing engine developed and maintained by the Technical University of Darmstadt since many years. Transitous is a community-run instance of MOTIS filled with whatever GTFS(-RT) data we can get our hands on (and thus under various open data licenses).

Transitous was initiated by people working on various FOSS public transport applications, KDE is just one of the parties contributing to it.

Thanks!

Does it make any sense to link OSM and transitous? E.g. a tag for the public transport relations with the url or id of the GTFS-RT data, or the reverse, a relation id in the transitous json files. Or maybe just a column in the relevant wiki tables (first message in this thread). It can help to detect missing data sources in transitous or relations in OSM, and perhaps it can help to routing.

Maybe, there’s an approve proposal which resulted in an OSM-wiki page for GTFS
