Hey everybody
sorry for writing english instead of korean. I wanted to highlight, that the traffic light information in Seoul is very poor in OSM. However, when searching a bit, I discovered that the Seoul transportation department is offering this information for free.
Intersecion API:
Contains: Lat/Lon + Intersection IDs
Traffic light API:
Contains: Intersection IDs where traffic lights are available
Wouldn’t it be great to use this free information and integrate it in OSM? What do you think? Looking forward to your replies
I’d be of course willing to support in adding this information Unfortunately, I do not have an account at t-data.seoul. Maybe some of you guys have and could share the list of coordinates of the intersections which have traffic lights. Thanks a lot!
I can’t read korean unfortunately but if I interpret that website correctly, the data is licensed under a version of the Creative Commons - Attribution license.
That license is unfortunately not directly compatible with OSM because there is uncertainty about the exact attribution requirements. Explicit permission by the rights holder or clarification whether they agree that being listed here is enough to fulfill the attribution requirements is therefore needed.
CC BY 4.0 allows some more flexibility in how a licensee can attribute the original source and many people have suggested that our indirect attribution mechanism already fulfills the requirements of BY 4.0. However the OSMF believes that licensors of BY 4.0 material may be surprised by this and that we should, for courtesy and good form reasons, continue to ask for explicit permission to attribute via our websites.
