Ah well that’s disappointing, given the name I was hoping it would be a neat kind of layer that averages out paths by algorithming all the multiple traces over a road.
Why? In the places where I map the OSM data is at least as good as the average of the GPS tracks. If that is not the case, it is time to update/edit OSM
