Touchscreen iD usage - move and multi select

I have been unable to figure out how to move ways and multi-select objects in the id editor on a phone (yes I am aware that vespucci exists, but if feels slightly less fun to work with) , I am unsure whether this is because this is not possible to do or whether the features are hidden somewhere that I missed

Is it possible ?

Moving nodes and ways, polygons(buildings e.g.) I’ve succeeded to do with ID on Android Firefox, which is a non-chrome based web browser. Chrome, Vivaldi and others I can not.

Multi select, No with ID on touchscreen. But then recently started using the Vespucci app and there you can. It even has a rapid auto follow/trace feature I’ve not been able to discover if an equivalent exists in JOSM for desktop.

I have been able to move nodes (both in and out of ways), but not the ways themselves, how did you do it ?

Your quote is incomplete. I wrote “… with ID on Android Firefox”. How I did it… JDI. Select the way and started dragging. The solution is not using ID on phone/tablet and switch to Vespucci when on the move… practical e.g. creating addresses (ISO of taking photos for when returning home and look suspicious. It’s got an excellent set of presets as well (pulled from JOSM). So after just a little decided that V is lots more fun, more productive at that.

“Moving nodes in and out of ways”? Out of ways I can by holding the screen after selecting the object and use the disconnect/unglue. Onto ways… don’t remember being able to do that… I use Firefox where I can, but then now my tool is Vespucci.

Using the “F” key after enabling “Advanced mode” (the same key works also in iD).

Yes, that’s node by node. In Vespucci you activate the auto trace after setting the second node of the new way, than select the node till where you want to do the trace/follow and kaboom, done. Picture a long wood outline which is flanked by a long farmland patch, hundreds of nodes. Not sitting there reading War and Peace while holding the F key and then when you look up realize you’ve overshot. Not in Vespucci. Such tracing in JOSM would save minutes depending how busy the system is on long ways. (Thought of using the Shift+P, replicate way, then cut to size and merge the line back but way too cumbersome.

Yes I tried on firefox, it either pans the map or creates a new node and drags the new node, no ways were moved
