First of all, I’d like to thank you for the contributions you made to our MapRoulette challenge Fix Building & Water Intersections. We really appreciate your help.
My team at TomTom has now created a new challenge to help us extend the road network in Ireland. It’s called Add Highways and as the name suggests, each task allows users to add a potentially missing highway. These ways were identified by comparing OSM to TomTom’s road centerlines, while also looking at the probe data we have in these locations. Additionally, we verified the presence of these ways on the available imagery sources for Ireland. The challenge currently contains 155 tasks, located in the Dublin area.
Our editing team may take up these tasks in a couple of weeks or so. Other community members interested in the challenge are of course welcome to try it out as well. If a way shouldn’t be added to OSM, the task at hand can be marked as “Not an issue”.
