Let’s start the changes from somewhere.

There are some requests to merge old topics. The requests have been made in older discussions [note: link them?], as well as in a recent one.

I spent some time tonight testing FluxBB (the forum software we use). When you merge 2 topics, their posts get ordered by their original publication date. Also, the original topic title, is not associated in anyway with the merged posts.

So, let me present a scenario:
Topic-A, with [
Topic-B, with [:
That we have a new topic to serve as an index for the rest of the forum. Maybe not for every single one topic, but for whatever we think should be easy to discover.Post-4, Post-5, Post-6Post-4, Post-5Post-6****an alternative](https://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?pid=#p)](https://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?pid=#p)

After a really quick check, we may be lucky with most of these, and the resulting merged topic could be readable. I am too tired to do it now, I will try to thoroughly check them within the weekend.

Oh, one more quick idea: if you think you have made some off-topic posts in the (recent) past, that should obviously be deleted, it would be nice to follow JayCBR’s example and mark them somehow (like a strike-through), so that I can easier spot them for deletion. Complete posts or just parts of them.

Tidying up the forum is important, but I do not wish for any posts to be deleted in case it becomes useful for any reason, such as tracing the development of certain policies.

I think it you could apply the on-topic policy to future posts.

υπάρχουν post όπως το παραπάνω που δεν θα έπρεπε καν να υπάρχει…απλές ερωτήσεις ας πάνε στα γενικά…είπαμε να μειώσουμε τις αναρτήσεις και από την ώρα που είπαμε να συμμαζέψουμε αυτά αυξάνονται

κάποιες προσκλήσεις, μηνύματα εκτός κοινότητας κτλ που δεν έχουν ούτε μια απάντηση δεν έχει νόημα να υπάρχουν στο forum
(πχ όλη η κατηγορία Ερωτήσεις και απαντήσεις, rendering maps, συνεργατικά project, τα μισά από κοινότητα/συναντήσεις, quality assesment, issues on creating roads, χωματόδρομοι, goodys, λεοφωρία, ονομασία δρόμου στη Θεσσαλία κ.α.)

τώρα για αναρτήσεις σχετικές με τα συνήθη θέματα, πχ ονόματα και αριθμοί δρόμων, υπάρχουν κάποια στα οποία συζητάμε τώρα και άλλα 2-3-4 παλιότερα με ίδιο θέμα, τα οποία θα μπορούσαν να μπουν στο αρχείο (δεν ξέρω αν μπορείς να τα κλειδώσεις ώστε να μην μπορεί κάποιος να γράψει

υπάρχουν και κάποια όπως το post που αναφέρει τα ΦΕΚ για ονόματα και αρίθμηση δρόμων που θα πρεπε να είναι sticky (είναι χρήσιμο αλλά δεν υπάρχουν νέες απαντήσεις με αποτέλεσμα να “θάβεται”)

αυτή τη στιγμή υπάρχουν πάρα πολλά post (είναι πολύ δύσκολο να βρεις οτιδήποτε)

βλέπω οτι τίποτα δεν άλλαξε, συνεχίζουν να ισχύουν αυτά που αναφέρω παραπάνω, καινούρια post για το οτιδήποτε και τα κλασσικά κολλήματα κάποιων
