Tasking Manager: Monthly update blog - July, 2022

Happy August, everyone! We’re going to start sharing a quick update on Tasking Manager with the community each month—this is the first one.

Kathmandu Living Labs started as tech collective on taking over the maintenance of the HOT tasking manager since February this year. You can read about the interesting changes that has happened in the last six months here.

And now, let’s go over some of the highlights from July. This month has been about fixing existing bugs, issues, and working on community requests.

:loudspeaker: What’s coming in August?

  1. Project titles along with existing project ids will be mentioned in the emails and notifications as project title will help user to remember the project easily. See in the above image.

  2. Project progress emails will be sent to contributors:

When the project is 50% and 100% complete.
When the project is 100% completed, the email will also consist of recommended projects to the user.

  3. While creating a new project, existing projects will be shown by default to make users aware of the existing projects in particular region which also tries in solving the duplication of similar project

  4. Project ownership transfer is now made possible to organization managers and system admins.

  5. Team managers can now enable notifications to receive email each time a new join request is made

  6. Team member role can be updated to manager without the need of removing the user from member list.

  7. Clearing the existing info while editing your personal information has been made bug free

  8. For example: if you try to remove your city, it will not do anything and when you refresh, the city will still be showing

  9. Issue of Red cross mark appearing on top right corner while filtering tasks by username/id has been fixed!
