When tagging buildings with the relevant details in the United States, is it best practice to add the tag addr:country
with the value being US
, when adding to the map, or should this tag be left out? I do not see many other buildings or nodes with this tag in other areas within the same state and country.
We discussed this a few years ago in another thread. My summary is this post: Questions about address tagging common practices - #13 by watmildon
Feel free to see if that vibes with your circumstance or if there’s another angle we should consider and discuss.

From my short read of this thread, I’m probably just going to leave it out considering the part that I am editing is nowhere near an international boundary and would be apparent to people looking at the data.

Some say you can derive it from the admin boundaries, adding street and house number is enough, some say put everything in addr:*
