Setting up custom base map in Umap

I’m trying to set up default base map in Umap (not self-hosted but in umap.openstreetmap.fr) but I failed. I’d like to have “pure” OSM as background instead of OSM-fr. When I set OSM, save the map and copy&paste the link into other browser, it always shows OSM-fr which is undesirable.

So I was trying to set up custom background map in Umap settings panel (on the right side), I couldn’t achive that - I always get default map. When I use exact the same configuration (tile server address with API key) for the overlay map, it works. But I don’t need the overlay - it is atop on basemap and two sets of tiles are downloaded when I zoom in and out. It is not necessary and eats more bandwidth.

Could someone help me with that?

Hi.

That does sound like a bug. I’ve just tried it (create a new map, change the tilelayer to osm and then positron, click save and open the same map in private navigation) and the right tilelayer was displayed.

You have to change it in the right (editing) side of the map.

Please try again, and if it’s still doesn’t work, you should create an issue.

Regards.

@H Thank you for the reply. Could you please make your map editable by everyone, just for testing?

I temporarily circumvented the problem so that I defined my own base map by specifying the address of the OSM tile server, and additionally another map as an overlay.

Sure, done. It’s just a newly created map by the way.

Your map works as expected. I cleaned the cache and mine map works too. Thank you!
