Repartee on sarcasm and hiding posts

:joy: auch it was just me attempting to make a rather dryly humorous rejoinder to Mr Baloo Uriza, to which I would hope he would say “touché :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:” and move on. But someone decided it was was actual “offensive, abusive, or hateful conduct”. :astonished:
Sorry Mr Baloo, I didn’t mean to upset you :kissing_heart: OSM relies on diligent editors who care about doing things the right way. And I certainly don’t want to dishearten any of them. /sends hugs/

the scamps!
I guess is this an example of the same kind of thing I mentioned in the side-discussion above about the ‘South Circular’ in London - names my be used by a variety of stakeholders without them being canonical terminology as designated by statutory bodies. Cartographers will often have to take pragmatic decisions on tagging in these situations. (But that should not extend to simply making things up  )

Hardly seems worthy of being hidden. Can it be restored, @mods-general @moderators https://web.archive.org/web/20250603170950/https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/visual-characteristics-of-unclassified-roads-as-you-understand-them/130884/38

Auch now I freely concede I can be a sarcastic git at times. And sometimes I need to be told off. This is why Zippy from Rainbow had a zip, so you could shut him up when he got too much :zipper_mouth_face: Rainbow (TV series) - Wikipedia

I will say I found it a bit off-putting that my, in my view, on-topic post with some substance got 2 emoji responses, and an off-topic rub at another off-topic poster got 4 responses…

Baloo and Ram, if your goal was to make people not want to contribute to this topic, you’ve succeeded

I did contribute substantially to the topic!

No, it cannot be restored. The Moderation Team determined that it should remain hidden after a community member hid it.
