We had several other discussions regarding road classification:
I’m working on edits basen on my recent South Coast NSW trip, and had a question about the highway classifications. According to the wiki, B routes are tagged as highway=primary. The tags for the NSW section of the Monaro Highway B23 (from the ACT border the the Snowy Mountains Highway) and the Snowy Mountains Highway B72 (entire highway) have recently been changed to highway=trunk. Are you able to still put together that list for people to see? Expecting everyone else to go and check it manually really isn’t fair, and honestly is worth disagreeing on at just that. Not saying the proposal has to change, but providing that gives people something to actually work with.
If I remember correctly, often the issue was “copying” classifications from other government datasets or maps that contain errors or do not align with OSM classification.
