Possible to add Google Street View link as image?

I’ve been wondering, is it possible to add a Google Street View link in the image field?

Let’s take this building for example. Is it possible to add this link in the image field?

This is NOT using Google Maps to map something and breaking the license rules. As the wiki says, this is simply a URL of a page containing the image (a 360 image, but still, an image).

On Taginfo, there’s 478 elements which use https://www.google.com/maps in the image field.

It’s fair to say that it’s a non-trivial issue: Copyright aspects of hyperlinking and framing - Wikipedia

Posting publically accessible links is probably fine, though it’s probably not going to be well supported (because Google) and personally, I’d consider it useless. But everyone is different and can have their opinion.

As for alternatives, I think Mapillary - OpenStreetMap Wiki is a better choice. You can use Key:mapillary - OpenStreetMap Wiki to point to a specific image. Like this one: Mapillary or this one: Mapillary. This has been done over 366 000 times.

In conclusion, it’s probably fine, but I recommend you search for alternatives to Google.
