I’ve got permission to use the data from The Lost Pubs Project! This is an archive of closed pubs across England. Ideally, we could make a validator tool to check if any pubs present in the data are still mapped on OSM, but it’s still a useful source to have nonetheless.

Nice, any chance that they might be OK with giving OpenHistoricalMap permission too while they’re at it? That way even the closed pubs can be mapped.
