It sounds like something from the OSM US Tasking Manager. Project 653 looks to be something in Egypt, which seems weird for the US chapter to be having tasks for, though…

Yep. That’s the US task manager hash tag scheme. Peter aced it.

: we haven’t set out restrictions on who can use the task manager and for what kinds of projects. This is, probably, an overly lenient policy but not a bad starting one. So far we haven’t really suffered any abuse because of it but you do end up with some curious looking projects.

Thanks! So when we see weird tasks like that, we can be pretty certain they’re legit!

Folks do have to ask to get the right permissions to make projects so if someone is being egregious it’s pretty easy to give em the boot. But generally, legit projects.
If you find one that has run off the rails I am happy to work with you on it.
