OSMgo multi-user mode

Do you remember to see a :slightly_smiling_face: smily in OSM in 3D :grey_question:
Years ago the 3D viewer OSMgo stopped developing. But it is still running as it is. (Wiki)
Soon after the multi-user mode was disabled - mainly because private data concerns. If you use OSMgo as multi-user, all your position and moves are send to the server and to all other multi-users! Of course this is needed to let you see the other users in your 3D view. And on the map too. A green ring will show up on the map at the position of the other โ€œplayerโ€. Click on it to join at the same position.

The multi-user mode is enabled again now. But only if you click on the smily in the map popup of the OSMgo map (or if you add &multi=1 to the URL) And you will be asked for a user name; you may use your OSM name. There also is a chat. Press C and write a line to all other multi-users.

Sounds funny :grey_question: Try it with a friend or tell me a time, I may join in. :timer_clock:

The 3D controls of OSMgo are a bit odd. I hate to say it, but a Chromium browser works best. OSMgo was used for many experiments then. And it is far from accurate. I consider to restart 3D rendering, may be in Rust or Zig. Want to help :grey_question:
But before I will study how other (FOSS) 3D renderer are working. May be I will add some documentation to the OSM Wiki pages about building:part etc.

Was flying around a bit, i like it. I think it could use some small rendering-improvements for the default-rendering, but its nice already  The wiki-page said some roof-shapes are implemented, but i could not find any of them.

I think we chatted/talked some time ago ^^ I made a chat for 3d in case you want to join. Everybody interested in 3d is invited  I thought its nice for some quick questions and initial and quick discussions maybe. Its #osm-3d:matrix.org

or a direkt link: https://matrix.to/#/#osm-3d:matrix.org

Am I hallucinating? I remember I had the roof types pyramidal, dome and onion running and code details still in my brain. But no, there was only skillion, pyramid and dome running.

The onion code was deactivated because it was just a copy of the eg shaped computer of the German Raumpatrouille Orion bridge ( Kommandokanzel ) Now I could adapt the lines to a nice onion now. The shape is from a screenshot of F4map.com. Today, I counted the pixel to get the same curve.

After I struggled with โ€œgabledโ€, I stopped roof shapes. Now, as I studied the OSMBuilding viewer, I will use this algorithms to go on, possibly all shapes from Simple 3D Buildings - OpenStreetMap Wiki

Writing code, some definition questios rise, to be new themes here in the forum.
