All OpenStreetMap.org emails to live.com, hotmail.com, and outlook.com from our mail server is currently hard blocked by Microsoft.
We have escalated the issue with Microsoft and are waiting for them to resolve the issue their side.
We (OSM operations team) have placed a temporary hold on outgoing emails to these email addresses. Once the issue has been resolved we will release the queued emails.
OpenStreetMap.org signup confirmation emails, password reset emails and other notification emails will only be received once the issue has been resolved.
It is expected the issue should be resolved by late 2nd June 2025.
The issue appear now to be fixed, and we have started processing the queue. It may take a couple of hours for the queued emails to be sent.
If you did not receive your sign-up confirmation email or password reset email please use the Lost password | OpenStreetMap form to receive a new email.
A portion of the earlier emails were lost and will not be sent.
Not sure if related to this, but I have a MS email account, and these past weeks all the OSM related emails are going to spam (at least the ones I received, which were private messages and follow-up comments in diaries). Can’t confirm about login/password reset.
Even though I marked as “not spam” and “never send these emails to spam”, they are still going there. I know MS does some weird stuff too, so I’m not sure if this is entirely MS fault or not.
MS has gone completely CoPilot bananas… their own mails e.g. for subscription updates go to spam. That what you tell outlook as reported junk goes to the focused view and that what you want to go to junk and spam, does not. But now I’ve taught my android some tricks on swiping (just been moved from v13 to v14 to v15 in a matter of days by …sung AI), and it’s learning now that what I repeatedly have swiped to the delete box from the same sender now automatically goes there. Battle royal of the AI’s.
