How to map a drive-through restriction to an intersection with an exception for driving to a specific direction at there?
The area on where the restricted roads are. There’s an restriction from node 26479215 to node 26479283 with an exception to drive to Kirvuntie at the latter intersection. And in reverse.
The original post didn’t contain links to the nodes, so just to help others, they are 26479215 and 26479283 . The traffic signs that encodes these restrictions can be seen for example in this rather old picture on Mapillary. @rle32795, can you confirm that those traffic signs are still present?
As I understand it, one can drive through Kivennavantie, Suotorpantie, Muolaantie and Kirvuntie, but only taxis, buses and lorries can turn to Turvesuontie and continue to Kehä I. Is that correct? In that case, maybe a (conditional) turn restriction at the Turvesuontie intersection would be OK?
Maybe you could get more specific answers, if you reposted this question at the Finnish section.
The restrictions have changed since that. The new restrictions (which are formatted a bit differently from the sign, in the case of this exception) are on the note I created (in Finnish). It just differs on up to where it is prohibited to drive through.
Also on the exceptions are mopeds instead of lorries.
I added links, but they didn’t seem to work. Probably because I forgot to add the https:// prefix. I couldn’t edit my original post anymore, so thanks for adding working links.
I could probably also posted there instead, however I chose to post about this here, as this is just about this specific exception on the restriction.
I didn’t also find anything about this in English here and elsewhere, so I’d think this is also useful for other people.
@rle32795 I found this slightly higher quality image on mapillary which seems to match your description: Mapillary Can you confirm that yours looks like this one?
Roughly translated, it means that through-traffic is not allowed, which would normally be tagged with motor_vehicle=destination. The exceptions for busses, taxis, and mopeds like this:
bus=yes
taxi=yes
moped=yes
If “bussar” resp. “linja - autoja” is better translated with public transport, then psv=yes could be used. But that is something regionally specific, so probably better asked in the Finnish section.
It also doesn’t. They have been changed a while ago, it seems.
This motor vehicle access value could always be used on the segment. But it doesn’t take into account the exception to drive to Kirvuntie (forward from south) though.
The “bus” exception could also be literal. I think psv may fit better when there’s a possibly broader exception, e.g. for “HSL traffic” (“HSL-liikenne”) in the capital region. But the key is also a bit broad in itself…
