New organised editing intention: Glint Solar power mapping

So far, I have been contributing to OSM in my freetime, for fun. I have been mentioning the possibilities OSM offers at work, ie at Glint Solar.

Eventually, it was decided that we are going to try contribute to OSM by expanding data on power infrastructure. Our main interests are: minor_lines and substations in the US.

Feedback or other thoughts are welcome. Write them in this thread, message me, email me, comment on our changesets (we’ll use the hashtag #glintsolar). We will listen carefully.

Cool, it’s good to know that coverage of minor power lines is good for this use case. Once you build out this coverage, it should also be easier to spot neighborhoods with buried utilities.
