This weekend I released v0.5 of my web extension to integrate Rapid into the osm.org website + add Strava heatmaps to it, and I’m fairly confident that it’s now ready for a wider release here.
Highlights:
- Opens Rapid instead of iD when clicking the Edit button on osm.org
- Extensive customization options for various default settings (use canary, use the webgpu renderer, enable/disable AI features, overlays, etc) as well as an option to remember settings you change inside the editor
- Strava heatmap integration, with options to choose which color overlay to use, and adjust the opacity of the heatmap to see the background layer underneath.
