I suggested this months back on the moderator forum, but it was summarily ignored.
The tagging sub-category continues to pollute the display of recent topics of the general category, to the point were it is unusable. The tagging category should be moved to its own top-level category, and preferably, at least for me, moved some where out of sight.
I remember being confused as to whether I should post something under the “Help and Support” section vs under the “General talk” with “Tagging” category, so this suggestion makes sense to me as a helpful change.
Since the default “help and support” functionality was turned off by the site moderators**, https://community.openstreetmap.org/c/help-and-support/tagging/71 and https://community.openstreetmap.org/c/general/tagging/70 are essentially duplicates of one another.
Both subcategories are used, and both occasionally drift off-topic (but there’s likely nothing we can do about the latter).
** the add-on that was used for it didn’t support some of the basic functionality that OSQA (used by the old help site) did support.
