Hi and welcome to OSM and the forum

As OSM is basicaly just the database which is the source of many maps please specify which map / program / application / service you are referring to.

If you referring to the map on our homepage (https://www.openstreetmap.org), the “map” is up and running (https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Platform_Status) so I assume this is a local problem on your side.

I have the same/similar problem.
My connection is very good and fast Speed
but still the tiles need forever to load, and some never appear or when i zoom in its very very grainy.

In my case this happens since there was a problem with the tile server Mailing List, is it possible that this is not 100% fixed?

Please put the URL of the map you’re using so we could identify which map/service do you mean.

The network problem can be anywhere in the network. It does not have to be at the terminations, source and destination. Just because the network is fast to one destination does not mean that the network will be fast to another destination. Doing a speed test only shows that the network is that fast to the test destination.

In Windows, open a cmd window and do tracert

In MacOS, Launch Network Utility. Click Traceroute, Enter the domain name for which you want to perform a traceroute, Click Trace.

In Linux, open a terminal window and do traceroute

Since every other web application/site/map/video etc etc is running smooth i dont think its a “local”(meaning my pc,my connection) problem.

I see several possibilities in that trace route output:

  1. The problem is not present now. Retry the initial effort with the problem to see whether the problem still exists.
  2. With www.openstreetmap.org having multiple addresses, it is possible that only one address has the problem and this traceroute is not to the problem address.
  3. Your home router is being erratic in its packet timings. Since home routers are often shared among several computers, other traffic could have slowed your traffic. Perhaps someone else was streaming a 4K movie on the television, for example.
  4. It looks like one of the intermediate GTT routers (ae6.cr0-vie2.ip4.gtt.net) is also having some traffic issues, similar to the issue with your home router.

Im the only machine connected at the moment, and my phone

“ae6.cr0-vie2.ip4.gtt.net” is out of my control, this means that it can be a problem with UPC (local ISP - www.upc.at ) there was some trouble a few days/weeks ago.
