Mass edit - Correcting network:wikidata

H,
I can see the network:wikidata tag is wrong on a lot of ways; relations and nodes in Hameln-Pyrmont.

This was raised from this MapRoulette challenge

Does anyone see any issues in me changing the network information to:

  • network=Nahverkehr Hameln-Pyrmont
  • network:short=NHP
  • network:guid=DE-NI-NHP

and remove the network:wikipedia page as what is currently linked is about the operator

It will impact 132 Relations, 138 ways and 256 nodes in the region (source: overpass turbo)

This change aligns the Wikipedia and Wikidata tags for the network.

Thanks

I thing even network=VHP is not correct and thus your suggestion for network:wikidata=Q46285860 is subsequently also not correct.

I suggest to use

  • network=Nahverkehr Hameln-Pyrmont
  • network:short=NHP
  • network:guid=DE-NI-NHP

as suggested on their Webpage https://www.oeffis.de/ and their Organigram “… Eine enge Zusammenarbeit pflegen die Unternehmen des Nahverkehr Hameln-Pyrmont nicht nur mit den zahlreichen Busunternehmen, die …” - so there is more than a single operator providing public transport. But more important: they have the same tariff / tickets and this is organized by “Nahverkehr Hameln-Pyrmont” https://www.oeffis.de/, “same tariff / tickets” => same ‘network’

VHP = “Verkehrsgesellschaft Hameln-Pyrmont” is not the network but rather an operator?

Am I wrong?

I just configured and ran the PTNA tool. You can see the result for DE-NI-NHP - allowing currently both values for ‘network’

… but I’m open to any decision here. network = Verkehrsgesellschaft Hameln-Pyrmont is OK for me as well.

That is a very good point.

You are correct that seems like the network and the wikidata IDs are mixed up and at some point someone removed the original Wikipedia page.

I will update my original suggestion to update with your suggestions
