Hi Indonesia community!

I never posted in this forum but I see a lot of posts about MapRoulette so I just wanted to say hi and please ask me anything about MapRoulette if you have questions, I am happy to help.

I have an unrelated question about Indonesia open data. I don’t have much experience with it but I was wondering if there are any open data sources (local or national) for parcels or addresses. Do you know if anything exists that is free to use? Are there address datasets that mappers have used to improve OSM before?

Hello

As far as I know, there is a government-initiated effort to collect nationwide address data.

The dataset can be accessed via a web app or downloaded as a single PDF file (updated yearly).

Thanks! Do you think the web app is not working for me because I am outside Indonesia?

@mvexel SINAR should be working from anywhere, but I’m more concerned about the absence of an English option from that web app. So maybe this can be a blocker for non-Indonesian speakers.

None, as far as I’m aware. If I remember correctly, most of the discussion in our Telegram related to adding physical objects, OSM utilization, etc, not about address dataset improvement.
