Folks in Delhi interested in having a mapping party, please get in touch with me
We’ll use Vespucci, the Android OSM editor, to improve OSM coverage in the area we decide to meet. We’ll decide on a time and place which suits everyone.
If there are any first timers, we’ll help them with creating an OSM account, installing Vespucci, and getting started with their first edits…so get in touch with anyone you think would be interested!
The 4th Delhi mapping party will be held in Khan Market!
Date - Sunday, 28th of January
Time - 12:00 PM to 2 PM
You don’t need any experience with OSM or maps to participate, and all are welcome. Please invite as many people as you can.
First-time participants should send an email to contrapunctus@disroot.org with their name and phone number. Recurring participants who have done so in the past need only say that they’re attending
Unlike most of our mapping parties where we go outdoors to survey on foot, this one will be focused on remote mapping. Getting a laptop and a mouse is essential.
Date - Sunday, 17th of March
Time - 12:00 PM to 2 PM (GMT+05:30)
Location - Software Freedom Law Center (India), Birbal Road, Jangpura
You don’t need any experience with OSM or maps to participate, and all are welcome. Please bring along as many people as you can.
The 7th OSM Delhi mapping party is coming up! Newcomers will learn to use and edit OSM, experienced editors will learn new techniques, and together we will improve OSM’s coverage. No experience with maps needed, so invite all your friends!
Date - Saturday, 13th of April
Time - 17:00 to 19:00 hours (5 PM to 7 PM)
Location - South Campus (exact location will be sent via email)
The 8th OSM Delhi mapping party is being held next weekend.
We’re hosting two parties this time - one covering a “rich” location (Nehru Place) and one a “poor” location (Laxmi Nagar) [1], with the aim of making OSM coverage more equitable. As a side effect, we also expect more people to be able to join us, due to the greater variety of timings and venues.
We encourage everyone to attend on both days, but you can choose to attend any one session, too.
The 9th OpenStreetMap Delhi mapping meetup is taking place next weekend. Due to the weather, it will be held indoors in air-conditioned spaces, and will focus on remote mapping (AKA armchair mapping) - so a laptop and a mouse are essential. You don’t need any experience with OSM or maps to participate, so bring all your friends!
To allow more people to attend, there are two sessions - one on Saturday and one on Sunday. We encourage everyone to attend on both days, but you can choose to attend any one session, too.
The 10th OpenStreetMap Delhi mapping party is taking place this Sunday!
We’ll avoid the humid weather by mapping in the comfort of an air-conditioned mall.
We’ll learn how to use Vespucci for adding data indoors. Thus, an Android smartphone is highly recommended, although we can still accommodate iOS users.
You don’t need any experience with OSM or maps to participate, so bring all your friends along!
Date - Sunday, 21st of July
Time - 3:30 PM to 6 PM
Location - V3S Mall, Nirman Vihar Metro Station (Blue Line)
We invite everyone to attend the 12th OpenStreetMap Delhi Mapping Party!
