I know about amenity=security_control
However, in the metro in my city, the metal detector frames and the X-ray machine are usually located ten+ meters from each other.
I wanted to clearly separate these objects, is there a way to do this?

Don’t appear to be any common tags in use, but can’t see anything wrong with sub-tagging them: amenity=security_control + security_control=x-ray / metal_detector etc on a node
Probably not something we commonly map. I have only come across such things in airports and when boarding Eurostar where a small time delay is not an issue and it is common to be carrying a rucksack for all those metal things we carry everyday.
Sounds a major hinderence on normal public transport.
xray was not in the extended barrier proposal, but maybe it could fit as something like
barrier:xray
it is not a barrier itself, but typically is part of a barrier (at the bottom of the proposal there are some tagging suggestions for additional barrier properties).
Also checkpoint is maybe relevant?
This feels less barrier and more like part of a relation restriction relating to whatever is going through the checkpoint that this is part of.
Not to say we shouldn’t have a way to tag the arch itself, but I don’t think barrier’s quite what we’re looking for.
I agree. Feels more like an entrance=* or something like that…
I was thinking kinda like how weigh stations have weighbridges to enforce a weight restriction. The relation makes sense in my head, just not sure what to make of the x-ray arch.
