Mapping a major but temporary event

I understand that it’s considered bad practice to map a temporary event.

The 2026 Commonwealth Games will be in Glasgow, Scotland, and it strikes me that with people coming from all over the world to compete and spectate it would be good to help them find their way among the 4 venues (one with 3 different buildings spread across a campus). But that hits the established bad practice of mapping temporary events.

Is there anything to be done within the OSM data to accommodate such an event?

Just detailed mapping will be useful. You can description, building names or references (e.g. ref=Unit 3), so people can easily find them, specially invented tags (e.g. leisure=event) will not rendered anyway.
