Hello, OSM community of Ireland!
Our team has been mapping missing roads since May 2024, as described here: Mapbox Organized Editing, Missing Roads
This project has been a success, and we are expanding the effort to European countries, including Ireland. Weβre sharing notice here to ensure that OSM community of Ireland has adequate notice, consistent with the Organised Editing Guidelines.

The OEG says:
This page should truthfully describe, where applicable:
But youβve linked to the OSM Wiki page about Mapbox. The GH issue you link doesnβt mention Ireland.
What is the data you want to import/map?

Greetings, Amanda! We appreciate your interest in our mapping activities and your attention to the specifics of our project. The wiki page referenced in this announcement provides comprehensive information about our company and all our mapping initiatives. We have not yet posted the update on GitHub because we are just beginning to announce a new list of countries, and work in those regions has not yet commenced.
To maintain alignment with the Organized Editing Guidelines, we will promptly post the list of countries on our GitHub, consistent with prior practice. As we already answered in the DM, we will change our approach to updating our official documentation first.
The main goal of this project is to enhance the road network where possible and essential, according to OSM mapping standards. We are not using import data, we are using our own detections of missing roads on the basis of which we are making edits on OSM. As stated in the post Mapbox Organized Editing, Missing Roads and on our GitHub, we will concentrate on the following features:
- Missing roads
- Roads geometry
- Surface tag (paved, unpaved)
- Access tag
