Making an icon a clickable route

Hello,
I have an OpenStreetMap on my website that connects various mountain trails to related articles on the site. I would like to make it so that, in the style of Outdooractive, when I click on the route icon, instead of just displaying the article popup, the route appears on the map, preferably removing the other points. I have been searching for a plugin for days, but I can’t find one. Can you tell me if there is a simple way, without having to write too much code, to achieve this?

I’m sure it’s possible to create such a feature.
But I don’t think it’s possible to do that directly in OSM.
OSM is more like (unpolished) data, unlike regular commercial maps.
I think you would have to understand the difference and implement such a feature yourself if someone hasn’t already done it.

You really should mention which software you are using currently. Leaflet? MapLibre? Something else?
