I’m looking to chat with Scottish OSM contributors about a cycle network mapping project we’re preparing.
My name is Mark. My background is in transport engineering, and I’m part of a team from the University of Strathclyde. Our project aims to help local authorities create more coherent cycling networks and improve cyclists’ navigation experience.
We’re collaborating with HiTrans to develop a cycle node network in Fort William that is similar to that in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. This network will combine physical and digital wayfinding.
It would be great to share what we are doing with current contributors, get feedback, and hear about the best practices for mapping this kind of network on OSM. The physical wayfinding and maps aren’t in place yet, so we’re not looking to add anything to the map; we’re just keen to understand the best approach and gather feedback from the community on our approach.
