Hello Slovenia community, I drove over the Vrsi Pass to Kranjska Gora today. At approximately these coordinates 46.46934° N, 13.78425° E I noticed newly installed barriers; unfortunately, I didn’t take a photo. Is it possible that the Vrsi Pass will become a toll road in the future?
These barriers are probably due to road works.
According to announcement road is closed during weekdays between 7:30 and 17:00 from March 31 to June 14 2025.
Hello, I’m aware of this construction work. The road has been widened to at least two lanes in that area, and I could see some kind of ticket machine at the barriers. I’m not sorry I stopped and took photos, but there was a lot of traffic there yesterday.
I will put a note here, I just hoped there is already some news about it.
This fall a new traffic system is being tested and implemented fully next year. One lane is going to be for those wanting to park on top limited to 92 vehicles at any one time. Through traffic will be able pass freely but won’t be allowed to stop at the top.
