Hello, I was wondering if it’s possible to get inclines for motorways. I queried “incline” on overpass-turbo and inclines were associated with footpaths and trails. Is it possible to get the incline values for more traffic heavy roads like motorways, trunks, primary, secondary, or tertiary highways?
While incline is a valid tag according to the wiki, I think I’ve only ever seen it used once. If I were looking for a general way to get this information, I think I’d get a source of elevation data like the global free SRTM dataset and then munge it with the OSM data for ways to get the approximate elevation for each node on the ways of interest. You could then compute an approximate slope or incline for each way or portion of way.
