Import data from business owners using the Rocketdata io service

Hello there!
We are a service that helps business owners update information about their business online.
DbCL 1.0 license because the owner of the company or employee of the publishing outlet hosts the data through our software.
In addition, we check each item manually by ourselves.We plan to post links here for future imports.
Documentation: Organised Editing/Rocketdata.io - OpenStreetMap Wiki
Import/Catalogue - OpenStreetMap Wiki
Our terms: RocketData Public Agreement and Privacy Policy

That is an impressive amount of violation of OSM community guidelines.

I am not convinced that we need the job of tracking potentially detrimental paid imports.

Hi @grin!
We can be a useful source for maps of Hungary. We will coordinate all our projects and edits with you, and there will be no errors.
Maybe we can try to work together?

Hello everyone!
We are endlessly grateful if you could take a few minutes to allow us to upload the update for this brand to the map. Please point out any shortcomings we may have, if there are any.
Thank you!

Unless you happen to gather support here or elsewhere (which includes someone actively verify your imports from the local community) I strongly suggest not to do that.

With all due respect.

Thank you for reaching out, as we requested after your previous import.

I think when you just update opening hours you can do it mechanically. As I can see only you updated the opening hours of both restaurants, so just keep on, thank you! Usually you can fix/update your own edits safely, you won’t accidentally mess up other mappers’ work. Maybe add a source:opening_hours=website tag.

About the new establishment I found it on Mapillary, and your position is mostly right. It wasn’t open half year ago.

Using Mapillary for osm mapping is legal, unlike G* streetview.

On the new restaurant please add a fixme=verify tag.

Hello @infeeeee!
We sincerely thank you for your response! We would like to be helpful to all communities in all countries, including Hungary.
Will we undermine your trust if we make edits to the map (whether it’s the opening hours of a POI or a phone number)?

I just had a lunch there, and can verify it’s open, and their pizza is delicious (but a bit overpriced)

I will add the neighboring shops later today or tomorrow.

I added this new Pizza Me: Node: ‪Pizza Me‬ (‪12659475357‬) | OpenStreetMap
You can add your extra data.

Be advised that in some cases, the opening_hours value was determined through a survey and may include information not present on the website, such as:

  • whether it is open on public holidays, so the PH value should be maintained
  • seasonality - many shops are open longer during summertime, so the respective date range needs to be updated from the value scraped from the website

I am happy that @infeeeee accepted the role of verifying every import of Rocketdata.

Hello everyone!
We would like to publish the brand’s company Anda.
Please let us know if you have any suggestions or comments. We really want to be helpful to the OSM maps.

(You probably always should ping @infeeeee if you hope for an answer.)

I reviewed your changeset previously: Changeset: 165268523 | OpenStreetMap

I copy here my reply from the changeset, you can reply here:

It seems good, just one thing. You added the new shops here as shop=doityourself, but the already mapped shops you updated in the other changeset were already tagged as shop=paint: osm.org/changeset/165268571

“Festékáruház” literally means “paint shop”. Shop=paint is documented in the wiki: osm.wiki/Tag:shop=paint

Is there any reason you went here with the other shop value? If the profile of these shops fit better the shop=doityourself tag, than can you tag the old ones the same way? Or are these shops different, and it was a deliberate choice to tag only these as diy? It would be better if all shops of the brand would be tagged the same way.

Another minor issue is that in Hungary the contact: scheme is much more common than theother one. Can you use that in Hungary? https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:contact:* It’s ok if you don’t want to fix this.

I changed the notification level of this thread to higher, so I won’t miss your new imports in the future. Thanks for the mention @grin

Another minor issue is that in Hungary the contact: scheme is much more common than theother one. Can you use that in Hungary? https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:contact:* It’s ok if you don’t want to fix this.

it depends on the tag, yes, there are twice as much contact:phone than there are phone, but there are only 10 contact:name compared to 567000 name=* https://taginfo.geofabrik.de/europe:hungary/search?q=name

My suggestion would be to give up on the „contact“ prefix as it doesn’t add anything but digits, in Hungary and elsewhere, so we use the same attributes globally for the same things, where it is possible.

There are also 3 contact:url compared to 60.000 url tags

Hello everyone!
We would be very thankful if you could spare a few minutes to help us update this brand on the map. Please let us know if you notice any issues or areas for improvement.
Thank you so much!

About the Anda named shops:

On this changeset we agreed with Evgeniya that all Anda shops should be tagged as shop=paint. I see she retagged all Anda shops according to this, please add all new Anda shops as shop=paint. Or do you have some new information, that these shops should be tagged differently?

The Tiszakürt shop is not listed on the Anda website, if you have contact with them please ask them to update the website, it would be easier to verify.

About the Sziklai shop:

The Sziklai shop is listed as an Anda partner only, it shouldn’t be tagged the same way as others, on the Sziklai website I can see Anda listed only as one of their partner, on the bottom of the page, next to others. For the Sziklai shop (and other Anda partners) I recommend the following tags or similar:

name=Sziklai
shop=doityourself
opening_hours=...
operator=Sziklai és Társai Bt.
contact:email=info@sziklaifaipar.hu
contact:phone=+36 82 463 459
contact:mobile=+36 20 978 4655
contact:website=https://sziklaifaipar.hu/kereskedohaz/

If you really want to add Anda as a brand there, you can use the brand tag and its namespace:

brand=Anda
brand:website=https://www.anda.hu
brand:facebook=andafestek
brand:instagram=andafestek

But as I can see they don’t consider Anda as their main brand, I don’t recommend adding this.

Hello! Thank you for reviewing the project.

We received information directly from Anda representatives indicating that warehouses are located at these addresses.

Regarding the Tiszakürt, we will contact them to resolve the issue and will request the addition of the location to the website.

We will correct the information for the Sziklai store.

Than just please add trade=paint. This tag is not documented, but it has some usage worldwide: trade=paint | Tags | OpenStreetMap Taginfo
