I shouldn't have created a place

Hello,
I’m a newbie
I just added a shop on the map I found difficult to find, but the owner of the shop disagree with that. I didn’t realize that was wrong. I should have asked before. In fact, I thought it was only on my own smartphone.
Is it possible to remove the place ?
Thanks in advance.
Fred

I don’t know how to delete stuff in Organic Maps. But you could quickly enter iD editor via https://www.openstreetmap.org/ (click “Edit”), click on the shop node and click “Delete” key, or “Ctrl+Backspace” or right-click and trashcan icon.

You have all the rights to add a shop to OpenStreetMap btw, you don’t need to ask owners permissions, but I see this is a complicated situation since is influencing you personally.

Very strange, the store is even listed on Google Maps and has a website.

Thank you for the answers.
I went on openstreetmaps.org on my computer and could remove the place (i think).
I was lost because I added it from organic maps…

Best regards,

PS : Even if I had the right to add this shop, I think it was not polite to do it without asking… Whatever their reasons.

businesses don’t have privacy. We don’t map personal information, but we map the world as it is, no need for shops to ask them

We have a guideline for this: Limitations on mapping private information - OpenStreetMap Wiki

(Note that this is a living document made by and for the community, not a legal document)

The important part here is that most of this only applies to living persons, but legal entities do not enjoy the same level of privacy in OSM. That’s why I agree with Dieterdreist here.
