Howto properly map a hotel with multiple buildings within a (vacation) resort

I tried to help @Dan_Westlake to better map a hotel within a (vacation) resort but have to admit that I am not enough familiar with this kind of resorts and additionally I am not familiar with tagging hotels in details. I took a look at Tagging a business that spans multiple buildings? but it did not answer our questions. As usual, there are multiple legitimate ways to map certain features. Others may disagree with my suggestions, which is fine.

  • The tagging and geometry of the hotel multipolygon relation (#18135070) looks great to me!
  • In this case, I recommend using ref=1, ref=2, and so on for the individual buildings. Since the aforementioned outer hotel area already has the name, personally I would omit the hotel name from each building.
  • I’m not sure how to tag a “cabin rental area”. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can chime in here.
  • Definitely the answer to MountainLoft vs Mountain Loft is “However it’s marked in reality”. Looking at ground-level imagery, looks like MountainLoft is correct.
