Thought of capturing this on the way north, the BI-6 always signed to go thru a protected pine tree strip along the coast and finally after all these years they’ve set out a route confined by poles and ropes for the ‘smoothest’ experience, bare ground covered in pine needles wiggling thru… bring your best navigation skills.
When arriving from the north you’re confronted only by the makeshift sign that tells of hazard=tree_roots or literally ‘emerging roots’… … this will become the second entry with this value per TagInfo.
Coming out it really is signed as end of cycleway and a stop sign, can’t make this up as this connects to a dead end stub of a service way in Cerrano but one can never be ‘safety first’ enough.
A closeup of the signs,
At left says “BicItalia ciclovia 6 Adriatica”, so it’s official official we’re en route,The warning above for the ‘emerging roots’ sign, made of wood, and at right, no vehicles and no parking. If you do commit an infraction, police and emergency services excused, you risk administrative sanctions from just between 200,000 Euro to 1,200,000 Euro.
Better stay between the ropes
That’s not “Euro”, it’s “Italian Lire”. It is about 100 - 600 Eur.
Generally, the sign in theory forbids riding your bike on this part of the cycleroute, but you could legally push it. In practise you can do whatever you want on your bike, nobody will notice you

Well, they got me there… found the sign in older imagery, but then it was obscured by bushes, left of the new roped entry point. Passed there many times thru the woods, but eyes then razor sharp on survival of all those roots sticking up. Should have suspected… the sign footnote referenced to an article of 1993, pre Euro Lol😄
I think, while the sign will commonly be understood to refer to motorized vehicles (by practice), it should be tagged according to the legal situation (on paper), because while you would not risk a fine (IMHO) for just riding, you might get into trouble if you had an accident with a pedestrian. It would be best to contact authorities and ask for clarification. If the roots pose a serious risk for cyclists, it is also not unlikely that the signs were set up deliberately for indemnification. Like putting 10 or 30kmh maxspeeds on some stretches of road instead of repairing it
